Driving without insurance penalties in GA? Permit only? Background check impact?

My friend called me to be a Designated Driver because she and all her friends were drunk. So I went there and she gave me her keys. I picked them up, and in the process of dropping them off forgot to turn on the headlights (it was a very well lit street). Less than 2 minutes after pulling out I got pulled over for no lights.

What I also didn’t know what that her tags were expired and she had no insurance. I had forgotten my permit at home, and they couldn’t find it on record so they used my prior permit information from a different state

I have a mandatory court date now, and I wasn’t sure what the penalties would be. It’s my first time pulled over. I also have a background check for work (because I’ll handle money; retail position) and I was wondering how that would affect me

(Before you ask, I know now to ASK if everything’s current and yes I learned from the mistake.)

If your friend shows up with you and admits everything you probably go scott free, if not they are going to want to talk to her I would imagine.
