Getting BC without insurance paperwork?
I’m looking into taking birth control to stop my periods. I get horrible headaches, body aches, chills, pain for the days leading up and during my period. I get irritable, frustrated and sad, pretty much PMS times a million. Cramps are to the point where I’m crying because it hurts so much, even with pain killers.
I’m 20, but full time student, so I’m still on my parents insurance (blue cross/blue shield, I think). I’ve never seen the insurance reports they send my parents, but will they include the pills? Or how can I get them without the insurance papers?
I have a job, so paying for the pills isn’t a problem, but my parents are old-school hispanics and don’t “believe” in birth control/think taking it makes you a skank, so I’d prefer they not know. I’m not interested in preventing pregnancy, but my periods have got to go. Even today, I snapped at a job interviewer, drove like a maniac and freaked out on my mom, but I don’t notice until afterwards, so I feel like I’m unintentionally ruining my life.

Taking the pill won’t stop your period forever dear. you can get on something like seasonique where you get your period 4 times a year (once a season) but there is no pill to take where u will NEVER get your period.. that is seriously unhealthy. I would also talk to my doctor about getting pills to help the pms. in extreme cases of pms (that u have) they have medications to level you out for that time.
as for the insurance, you’re 20 years old. go to a free clinic or call a sex health clinic ask them. at the clinics here you can just buy packs for 7 bucks a piece.
