What if you get caught by the CHP driving without auto insurance at the time, but when you go to court you show that you actually have auto insurance.What will the court do?
The California Vehicle Code requires you to carry proof of insurance at all times when driving, and to present it to a police officer on demand. If you were caught without the proof of insurance in you car you are guilty, and will have a costly fine. That information may be transmitted to the DMV which can suspend your cars registration.
