What is the penalty for driving without a license in TN?

My friend rolled her car over a few days ago. It didn’t involve anyone else. She is 22 and apparently never got her license. She has been driving with only her permit for 4 years. The car she wrecked is in her mom’s name, and she doesn’t have car insurance. What kind of penalty is she looking at? And will her mom be in trouble for letting her drive her car?

hope the mother had good insurance cause it will cost you a lot to fix it,and driving with only a permit alone can make it so you cant get your license for i think 2-3 years so your friend pretty much put herself in a rut there

Mom is completely liable, as it is her car (vicarious liability). Your friend will be fined for driving without a license (not huge). Any damage is her mother’s problem. Good for your friend. Bad for her mom.

If the car was insured, insurance most likely will not pay.

Your friend might be held criminally responsible, but also not likely. Unless she was under the influence. If so, she is looking at jail time.

Driving without a license or insurance. Probably a large fine and a license suspension. Not that it matters since she has no regard for the law and will just drive anyway.
If she caused an property damage, her mother will be held liable.
Yes,if her mother allowed her to drive knowing she didn’t have a license, she could also be looking at a fine.
